Job's Daughters/About Doc Morgan

__G.H. “Doc” Morgan founded Doc Morgan Inc. in 1974. However the history began in 1929 as Mr. Morgan sold high school class rings while attending college himself. This was with the Herff-Jones Company. From that experience Mr. Morgan developed a fascination and love for the emblematic jewelry business.

In 1934 he moved to Chicago to open and run a local office for Herff-Jones, followed by a branch factory in 1938. This operation was maintained while Mr. Morgan served two years with the U.S. Army (W.W.II) after which he returned to the Chicago area and resumed his career.

In the interim, Mr. Morgan's entrepreneurial spirit motivated him to open his own business. He purchased the Herff-Jones office and Chicago factory and Morgans Inc. was launched. In 1953 Morgans Inc. headed west to its current location in St. Charles Illinois. During the early 1970's Lenox Awards (division of the famous Lenox China) acquired Morgans Inc. and Doc Morgan Inc. was established. Moving further west (across the Fox River) in St. Charles, Doc Morgan Inc. is presently located at 108 South Second Street.

Since that time, Doc Morgan Inc. has had the privilege of serving national/international groups as well as corporate accounts. Some of those being Altrusa International, Zonta International, YMCA of the USA, Lions International, Realtors, Job's Daughters International, American Association of Medical Assistants, plus many local hospitals, financial institutions and municipalities.

Though he elected to retire at the age of 92 years, Mr. Morgan created a legacy that will stand the test of time. His high expectations for value, quality, service and detail continue under the new owners. Collectively they have 50 years tutelage under the guidance of Mr. Morgan.
